Ministry training in the context of night-and-day prayer

The International House of Prayer University’s mandate is to equip and send out believers who love Jesus and others wholeheartedly to preach the Word, heal the sick, serve the poor, plant churches and start houses of prayer, and proclaim the return of Jesus as King over the nations.

IHOPU functions in a context of 24/7 prayer with worship and a thriving missions base with over 1,000 staff members. We are establishing a spiritual family built on the centrality of Scripture, prayer, and worship in an environment where the Word of God is expressed through song, prayer, and ministry to one another.

What We're About

1

Encountering the Beauty of Jesus

Receiving the love of God and seeking to give the first commandment first place in our lives is foundational to enjoying intimacy with God and the formation of godly character.

2

24/7 Intercessory Worship

We are cultivating intimacy with God through adoring worship and contending for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit for revival in the Church, the salvation of the lost, and the release of God’s justice and purposes in society.

3

Centrality of the Word of God

The Scripture is the final authority for all practice and doctrine in the Church. Our desire is that all students receive a firm foundation in the Scriptures to equip them to live godly lives and do works of service. Our training upholds responsible scholarship, yet with an emphasis on practical application to ministry, personal holiness, and building the Church.

4

The Forerunner Ministry

We are committed to spiritually preparing ourselves and others for the unique dynamics of the generation in which the Lord returns.

5

A Family of Believers

We value building godly relationships and enjoying fellowship together as a spiritual family, as we work together with many other ministries in the Body of Christ. We want to equip students to value and function in the local church throughout their lives.

6

Ministry in the Power of the Spirit

We believe that all of the gifts of the Spirit are necessary for the Church to fulfill its calling to win the lost and make disciples.

7

Evangelism and Missions

Effective ministry training empowers us to engage in the Great Commission, win the lost, and work for justice together with the rest of the Body of Christ.

What Others Are Saying about Us

I feel completely blessed. In my four years at the music school I have developed as a worship leader through hands-on experience leading a band, gaining skill on my instrument, and one-on-one coaching from excellent instructors.”

Lauren Alexandria
Worship Leader, International House of Prayer

“IHOPU prepared me by teaching me the value of having a regular prayer life; prayer and evangelism go hand in hand, because I can’t tell people about Someone I do not know. I recommend IHOPU because you are around people who are going after Jesus; when I hear the instructors, I think to myself, “I hope I know Jesus like that one day.” The most impacting thing for me at IHOPU was seeing God move in our midst in healing and the prophetic—in ways I had never seen before.”
